We have just completed a major stakeholder satisfaction survey for a leading Third Sector organisation. The survey was conducted over a few weeks comprised email and telephone questionnaire plus focus groups and was designed to measure their performance against key areas of work.

The concluding report proved very interesting and highlighted several key pieces of information that the client was not aware of together with recommendations for future action.

November '09 Marketing history!

During November dlh has been working with two Birmingham comprehensive schools. As part of a history project the pupils, from year 10, had to look at a particular place of historical interest that was open to the public. Following a visit they were then given a specific marketing task on which dlh has been assisting in terms of providing background information and advice. Samples of some of the work will hopefully appear on the Blog when ready.

We were delighted with the support and guidance given to us by DLH Visual Communications, concerning the development of a new marketing strategy for a local museum, as part of the OCR GCSE History course.  The students really benefitted from their advice and well produced resources. We experienced a great two afternoon’s work and found them to be friendly, adaptable and professional. Good relationships were built with students and we are looking forward to working with them again.

August '09 Real Savings

An international healthcare plc asked dlh to review their spend on print for the UK market. The company had an annual budget of £150k but was looking to make a reduction. Working on a consultancy basis I spent time looking at the type of print they were purchasing, its uses, the audience and their procurement process. The report I put together highlighted areas where they could save upto 40%. This was from a mixture of renegotiating and changing the way print was used.

If you need to make savings on any marketing material give us a call.

July 'o9 SHAPE launch

This month saw the successful launch of Saddlers Health Awareness Promoting Excercise. A joint project between Walsall FC and the Primary Care Trust. dlh were invited to develop the identity for the project, something which had to incorporate several elements.

Adam Davy of Walsall FC said...

'Following the successful re-design of our stationery earlier in the year, when the Primary Care Trust asked us to get involved in setting up the Saddlers Health Awareness Promoting Exercise (SHAPE) project we asked David of dlh if he would develop the brand identity.

The challenge was that it should be strong, fun, relevant to families, incorporate a reference to 5 a day and be an umbrella for a range of healthy eating and exercise activities. To complicate it a little further there also had to be the inclusion of Walsall Football Club's logo.

David gave us several ideas, all of which had strengths, but 2 stood out with one being a clear winner.

In a short time the logo has become recognisable and given a clear, strong identity to what has become a very successful project.'

April '09 Words and Whackers

Saddlers Learning Centre have worked with local Walsall schoolchildren to produce a book of poems using Walsall Football Club as the theme. Working in association with renowned Barnsley poet Ian McMillan and percussion duo Maraca2 the poems were written to be read or sung to a percussive beat. dlh Visual Communications were involved in the project from an early stage and was commissioned to put the book together. We were keen that the book should remain primarily the product of the children's creative thinking and therefore the images they produced during the exercise were used throughout the book.
